​Battle of the Books is a game-show style reading competition that takes place in February.  Our goal is to promote reading and introduce new literature to fifth grade students throughout Chesapeake, Portsmouth and Suffolk.  Teams consisting of no more than five students each are encouraged to read and answer questions based upon selected titles. Winning teams from each preliminary school event will advance to the final battle.

Join Suffolk Public Library's Battle of the Books Book Talks on Monday evenings once a month leading up to the battles to read and discuss the books. Registration is required and can be made for each date through the library's online calendar.
